چکیده
This article reports on a mode of analysis semi-adiabatic relaxation data allowing to account for exotic phenomena sometimes observed in first-order transitions. The principal interest is get detailed characterization latent heat while using the same experimental configuration as that employed accurate capacity measurements outside transition. Special attention paid recalescence/antirecalescence effects and existence spikes time-dependent exchange heat. present approach—based notion “power heat”—is shown be consistent with differential scanning calorimetry, magnetization measurements, usual terms capacity. study carried out LaFe10.77Si1.23Co0.28 compound belongs one most promising families giant magnetocaloric materials.

Solid State Polymorphism and Dynamics of 2,2-Dimethylbutan-1-ol as Studied by Adiabatic Calorimetry and Dielectric Spectroscopy
2,2-dimethylbutan-1-ol, known as neohexanol, was studied by adiabatic calorimetry and dielectric spectroscopy. Details of complex solid state polymorphism and relaxational dynamics were identi ed and described. System of phases of neohexanol was found to be monotropic with three orientationally disordered crystalline phases besides isotropic liquid and ordered crystal. Moreover, two subsequent ...
متن کاملHydration of thermally denatured lysozyme studied by sorption calorimetry and differential scanning calorimetry.
We have studied hydration (and dehydration) of thermally denatured hen egg lysozyme using sorption calorimetry. Two different procedures of thermal denaturation of lysozyme were used. In the first procedure the protein was denatured in an aqueous solution at 90 degrees C, in the other procedure a sample that contained 20% of water was denatured at 150 degrees C. The protein denatured at 90 degr...
متن کاملFirst Order Quantum Phase Transition in Adiabatic Quantum Computation
We investigate the connection between local minima in the problem Hamiltonian and first order quantum phase transitions during an adiabatic quantum computation. We demonstrate how some properties of the local minima can lead to an extremely small gap that is exponentially sensitive to the Hamiltonian parameters. Using perturbation expansion, we derive an analytical formula that can not only pre...
متن کاملA First-Order One-Pass CPS Transformation
We present a new transformation of call-by-value lambda-terms into continuation-passing style (CPS). This transformation operates in one pass and is both compositional and first-order. Because it operates in one pass, it directly yields compact CPS programs that are comparable to what one would write by hand. Because it is compositional, it allows proofs by structural induction. Because it is f...
